Summer Camps
What better way to spend the summer than on a tallship!
Children’s Maritime Institute in partnership with Los Angeles Maritime Institute offers summer programs for students ages 6-17. Young learners can join us for day camps, while older kids sail with us for 5 or 12-day trips. Youth become part of the crew, set sail, snorkel, swim, and enjoy time on the islands of California.
Educational Sail
Classes, scout groups, youth groups, and more can join us onboard Tallship American Pride, learning about the earth and ocean that connect all of us. Educational Sails range from 3 hours harbor sails to 7 day voyages to Catalina.
Public Sails
Children’s Maritime Institute conducts weekend public sails on board American Pride. Leaving from Pine Ave Pier in Long Beach, sails are typically 3 hours long including a sail set and downtown harbor cruise. Click below to find out more about upcoming sails!
Weekend Wonders Program
On the second Saturday of every month from 10am-Noon, Children’s Maritime Institute in partnership with the Port of Long Beach hosts Weekend Wonders, an educational program for learners age 5-10. Programs vary from month to month, with immersive explorations of Long Beach’s inner harbor and beyond.
Charter the Ship
Birthday bashes, retirement parties, wedding celebrations, family reunions, whatever your event is, enjoy it on board American Pride! We can host up to 100 guests for a day and 32 overnight. Music, catering and bar service are easily accommodated.
Public Deck Tours
Each month, we open up American Pride for self guided tours. Guests may walk the deck, take pictures of the rig, or snap a selfie at the ship’s wheel. Crew members stationed around the ship can answer your questions and teach you about marine mammals. This is free fun for the whole family. Donations greatly appreciated. Volunteer with Us
Children’s Maritime Institute trains volunteers to help sail American Pride and deliver our programs. As a volunteer you can assist us with day sails, overnight voyages, maintenance, or just lend a hand shoreside. Please consider joining the hundreds of community friends that support us with their time and talents. There are no fees, no minimum commitment and no experience necessary. Welcome Aboard!
