Kudos. Love Those Kudos. Keep Them. Remember Them. File Them.

Doesn’t it feel just wonderful when you receive a note or a verbal endorsement for a job well done? Or you receive a special note of thanks when you have made a difference in someone’s life, or assited another in accomplishing a certain thing? Or you have been complimented in an email on your new haircut, shoes, or purse? Those are KUDOS and they feel great. From Webster, “Compliment. Praise. Fame or renown resulting from an achievement”

Kudos are well worth saving. As human beings, our vast emotional pool  might hand us a bad day for no particular reason.  Still your day must continue and somehow you’ve got to pull yourself together, don’t you?  Well go right to your Kudos File and read about how wonderful you are. Because you are; you have only momentarily forgotton that.  That you make a difference in the world is a beautiful thing.  Believe it. Look: everyone says so.

When I receive an email from an associate who tells me that because I offered a certain perspective on they way they were approaching a project, it made all the difference — it makes my day.  I file that note in my Kudos File and when I have one of those bad days, it sure helps to elevate my outlook and mindset to go back and read it.
